Innovation Center Organizes Training Workshop: Designing and Creating Learning Game Innovation with Canva

On August 9, 2024, from 09:00 – 16:30, the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center, Khon Kaen University, is honored to welcome Asst. Prof. Dr. Rattasapa Kankaew, Assistant Director of Academic Affairs from Media Center, Sripatum University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Wipaporn Tantasawat from Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage. Both speakers are experts with extensive experience in creating learning innovations using Canva. They will be guest speakers for the training workshop “Designing and Creating Learning Game Innovation to Address Students’ Learning Styles with Canva” to enhance teachers’ skills and tools in designing diverse learning activities that meet learners’ needs. The workshop will be held at the Computer Room, 5th Floor, Information Center Building, Khon Kaen University.

This training focuses on using Canva, a creative tool that enables instructors to easily create learning games, with two main topics as follows

  1. Tools for Inspiring Teachers and Creating Student Engagement : Participants learned techniques for inspiring and stimulating students’ interest, making teaching and learning more engaging and effective.

  2. Designing and Creating Learning Games with Canva : This training emphasized using Canva to create learning games that can be customized to match students’ Learning Styles, featuring demonstrations and group activities that allowed participants to apply knowledge immediately. Participants gained knowledge and experience in various aspects that can be effectively applied to create teaching and learning activities as follows :

2.1 Canva Whiteboard for Stimulating Student Learning : Using Canva Whiteboard as a tool allows instructors to create a highly engaging learning environment where students can share opinions, write notes, and collaborate on ideas in the same space, fostering interactive learning and creating an atmosphere conducive to group learning.

2.2 Creating Animation and Using Effects : Participants learned how to create engaging animations in Canva that can be applied to present information more dynamically. They also explored various effects that enhance learning content, making it more exciting and engaging for students.

2.3 Incorporating YouTube and Google Maps into Canva Presentations : This learning session included using YouTube and Google Maps as presentation components, enabling instructors to add diverse and real-world relevant content, making learning more profound and connected to students’ interests.

2.4 Using BG Remover with Layer Management : Participants learned to use BG Remover to create transparent backgrounds, adding dimension and interest to their designs. Layer management techniques further helped instructors create multi-dimensional work, making information presentation clearer and more engaging.

2.5 Using Canva Docs : Participants experienced using Canva Docs, which helps create professionally designed documents that can be easily shared and collaborated on.

In this training, everyone had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences in using various tools to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness. We hope that the knowledge and skills gained today will benefit future learning innovation development and inspire all instructors to create effective teaching and learning activities that meet students’ needs.
